General Overview:
Our 20-week program will guide and support individuals within your business through an immersive, experiential, and interactive growth experience that will enhance participants current strengths and further develop new strengths, which will bolster your business’s bottom line.
Being a business leader in today’s day and age, with respect to an ever-changing, and often times uncertain business climate, is filled with significant challenges and obstacles. The worldwide navigation of COVID-19 has exacerbated these challenges and has created the need for businesses and organizations to re-assess, re-evaluate, and re-discover what optimal leadership looks like and means.
The holistic leadership model is based out of a belief that business oriented best practices, in conjunction with, and with respect to mental health and wellness, go hand in hand. Our process is derived from data supported and empirically validated research. Individuals will learn about their inherent leadership and character strengths, leveraging prominent skill sets, and enhancing their level of personal self-awareness.
Mental Health Business Services Overview:
The Shift Counselling Services knows that workplace mental health is integral to a business’s success. Businesses are reliant upon individuals who are healthy, mind & body. Clint has recently shifted into providing services to non-profits and businesses. An investment in mental health will increase staff wellness, retention, productivity, and engagement. Taking care of your employees’ wellness, through a proven and credible model, will increase your businesses bottom line. Based on your business’s unique needs, The Shift Counselling Services can tailor any and all sessions to either your executive level team or to your entire team.
Each session during the 20 week 360 Leadership Development Training Course can be in person or online and both options will provide participants with an online, anonymous platform, where they can share comments, questions, and concerns.
Anxiety & Mood: The top 2 areas of need, globally, with respect to wellness and mental health are anxiety and mood. Clint will explore the origins and function of anxiety, how it plays a role in our lives and how we can manage it better. With respect to mood, Clint will present a list of empirically researched strategies that have been proven to enhance and maintain optimal levels of mood.
Vibe in the Workplace: Living during and after the COVID experience has intensified anxiety triggers and has had a negative affect on many individuals’ moods. Creating a positive vibe in the workplace is a piece that we have control over. Focusing on areas that we can influence, such as, verbal and non-verbal interpersonal communication skills, will be addressed. This session will help to build a positive and healthy work culture for your team.
Navigating Trauma: Anyone who experiences any type of significant trauma is changed mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Understanding through the lens of trauma informed intervention is time well spent.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention: Based on the Crisis Prevention Institute’s international training model, Clint offers group training sessions on the non-violent crisis intervention model and processes. This training is perfect for anyone involved in human services, who directly intervene in crisis situations.
Counselling Micro Skills: Clint’s advanced, Masters Level Training, has provided him with a professional skill set in the area of interpersonal, social and communication dynamics. Clint will share his knowledge on such skills as Attending, Rapport Building, Reflecting & Paraphrasing, Questioning, and Summarizing.
Positive Psychology/Strength Based Approach Awareness Training: Positive Psychology is the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive. Clint will share the base concepts and processes connected to the positive psychology model.
Leadership Training Overview:
Strengths based practice is holistic, multi-disciplinary and works with the individual to promote their wellbeing. Individuals will learn about their strengths, their character, and the leader they strive to be. Through training, purposeful skill development and group collective wisdom, individuals will learn about themselves, their areas of awesome and how to put them into practice as business leaders. Investing in and focusing on individuals’ talents boosts engagement leading to higher levels of performance, profitability, productivity and greater earnings.
Strengths based approach: Individuals will discover the best of what they currently have, learn about their strengths and how they are leveraging them. Purposeful practice of gifts and areas of awesome, naturally dissolves deficits and honours unique individual contributions. Our strengths are the starting point for living our strongest life possible. Your greatest chance to succeed — at work or anywhere else — lies in strengthening what you naturally do best and doing more of it.
Leadership & Values Defined: What type of leader do you want to be? How does it connect to your values and your behaviours? Heidi will explore the 10 common elements of leadership and share a general baseline of leadership knowledge. Individuals will learn how to connect their values to their strengths, behaviours and start to think about how to be purposeful with them on their leadership journey.
Character Strengths & Leadership: Character strengths are the positive parts of your personality that make you feel authentic and engaged. Understanding and applying your strengths can help: Boost Confidence, Increase Happiness, Strengthen Relationships, Manage Problems, Reduce Stress, Accomplish Goals, Build Meaning and Purpose, and Improve Work Performance. Individuals will learn how self-awareness of character strengths and purposeful practice of them will increase their skills and abilities as leaders.
Self-Awareness, Empathy & Perspective: Trust and cooperation are not standard in our businesses and yet we know they should be. There are two attributes that every single leader has the opportunity to possess that will help them create the types of businesses we would be proud to call our own. Those two attributes are EMPATHY & PERSPECTIVE. (Simon Sinek) How does this connect to your strengths and abilities as a Leader?
EQ & Check-In Culture: Emotional Intelligence, Embracing vulnerability, and Role Modeling. Individuals will learn about EQ through self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. What is vulnerability and what does it look like in the workplace? We will define check-in culture, what it -leaders to EQ, vulnerability and authentic check-ins.
Therapist Best Practices, Enhancing Your Toolbox: Incorporating counselling micro-skills along with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention skills into leadership best practices. Self Regulation through sensory motor integration and managing sensory input.
